Harlem Ambassadors Conclude Successful Asian Tour

The Harlem Ambassadors brought their unique sports entertainment show to Asia for the first time this December 2000 beginning with a tour of several United States Army installations in Korea. The tour continued to Japan for six military base games before returning to Korea for games in Pusan and Seoul for Korean public audiences.

"The crowds were very receptive," said Ambassador Vice President/Coach Ladè Majic. "They embraced us with outstretched arms and made us feel at home. We were honored to be a part of the pre-holiday festivities for our extended family members."

The Harlem Ambassadors Asian tour kicked off in Korea on December 1 at the U.S. Army facility at Yongsan. After performing additional base games in Korea, the Ambassadors flew over to Japan. There, the team played at U.S. Army facilities, Marine Corps, Air Force and Navy bases.

After concluding the Japanese tour at Yokota Air Base, the Ambassadors returned to Korea performing before a packed arena of screaming teenagers in Pusan. The teens were there to cheer for the Ambassadors and Korean pop stars G.O.D. who played a game as part of a segment for KBS-TV's hit show Dream Team. Concluding the tour with a game in Seoul against a top Korean club team, the Ambassadors jetted home to join their families for the Christmas break.

"We were pleased at the warm response we received from fans and organizers alike in both Korea and Japan," said President/General Manager Dale Moss. "We plan on making this an annual tour."
