A veteran performer with the Harlem Ambassadors, Jazz begins his seventh season in 2007 overseeing the Ambassadors’ Stars & Stripes Tour as Tour Director and also serves as Basketball Operations Administrator, actively involved in player recruitment. Known as “Juggling Jazz” for his ability to juggle three basketballs in a variety of crowd-pleasing ways, Copeland is a deadly three-point shooter and is also a sensational show dribbler. When a knee injury in 2006 prevented him from playing on the court, Jazz took on the role of announcer for the season and discovered a new passion: acting. Jazz has toured with the Ambassadors to international locations including England, Germany, Japan, Korea, and the South Pacific.
Copeland won his spot with the Ambassadors the old fashioned way … he earned it … after riding 30 hours on a Greyhound bus to get to a free agent tryout camp. A true Ambassador, Copeland can always be found working on his ball handling “reams” and striving to improve his technique. Prior to joining the Ambassadors, Copeland toured Europe with the Athletes in Action basketball ministry. Off the court, he enjoys taking classes in acting, pursuing roles in TV and film, and spending time with his wife, son, and baby daughter.
