HARLEM AMBASSADORS ANNOUNCE ISLAND HOPPING PACIFIC TOUR

The Harlem Ambassadors today announced their 2001 Pacific Tour, the most extensive schedule of Polynesian and Micronesian island games in show basketball history.

The internationally-known touring basketball show will perform 14 games including games in the State of Hawaii, the Republic of Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Territory of Guam, the Commonwealth of Northern Marianas Islands, and the Republic of Palau.

"We are overwhelmed with the response that we have received from these Pacific locations," said Harlem Ambassadors President Dale Moss. "We expect packed gyms throughout the region and a great warm response from the people," he added.

The Harlem Ambassadors Basketball Show features high-flying slam dunks, dazzling ballhandling, and comedy routines led by Ladè Majic, Queen of Show Basketball. The only woman coach/player of an all mens professional team, Ladè Majic has played more show basketball games than any woman in history. She competes against opposing men players on a nightly basis and represents a great positive role model for young girls.

Unlike another touring show basketball team with 'Harlem" in its name, the Ambassadors do not travel with a pre-selected opponent or present a choreographed show. "We like to be challenged by local players," said Ladè Majic, "and I'm certain we'll see some strong talent throughout the Pacific."

This is the third international tour for the Harlem Ambassadors in the 2000-2001 season, including trips to Europe (Iceland, England, Germany, Bosnia, Kosovo) and Asia (Japan, Korea). The Ambassadors were the first team to tour the war-ravaged areas of Bosnia and Kosovo, entertaining NATO peacekeeping forces on the front lines of that region.
